Rabindra University, located at Shahjadpur, Sirajganj, has announced the admission of students in the first year of graduation (honors) in the academic year 2020-21. The notification was published in a newspaper on Saturday.
It is said in the notification that in the five departments comprising of four faculties in Rabindra University, applications are being invited from the students who want to be admitted in the first year in the four (04) year term graduation (honors) class in the academic year 2020-21 in the prescribed manner.
Only students who have passed SSC / Equivalent in 2016 and 2017 and HSC / Equivalent examinations in 2019 and 2020 who have taken part in the first year integrated admission test for graduation (honors) of GST group universities can apply in the prescribed manner.
This year, a total of 155 students will get admission in the university. Among them are 30 in the Rabindra Studies Department of the Faculty of Arts of the University; 35 in the Department of Cultural Heritage and Bangladesh Studies. There are 35 students in the Department of Economics in the Faculty of Social Sciences. 35 students will be admitted in the Department of Management Studies under the Faculty of Business Education and 20 students will be admitted in the Department of Music under the Faculty of Music and Dance.
Terms of application
In the Department of Rabindra Studies, Cultural Heritage and Bangladesh Studies, Economics and Management Studies, the final merit list will be prepared and published on the basis of the marks obtained by the applicants in GST cluster examination and GPA obtained from SSC / Equivalent and HSC / Equivalent without any condition. In this case GPA of SSC / equivalent and HSC / equivalent will be doubled.
As per the rules laid down by the university, departmental seats will be distributed among A-unit, B-unit and C-unit students.
The final merit list will be prepared and published on the basis of the marks obtained by the applicants in the GST group examination and the GPA obtained in SSC / equivalent and HSC / equivalent and the marks obtained in the practical and oral examinations in the music section. In this case GPA of SSC / equivalent and HSC / equivalent will be doubled. The applicant must participate and pass the practical and oral exams.
